SRI offers specialist auditing services across the entire harvesting, cane transport, sugar manufacturing and refining processes.

Clients benefit from SRI’s deep knowledge of the sugar factory plant and processes and specific detailed knowledge of some key areas.

Our capabilities lie in conducting specialist auditing combined with excellent understanding of the area being audited. We also foresee the implications of our recommendations to the entire factory operation.

Our detailed work portfolio includes:

  • Entire factory audits
    SRI recently played an integral part in developing the major expansion options for a milling company in Australia. Issues of capacity and performance of each processing station were considered. Similar investigations have been carried out for many Australian and international clients.
  • Milling train
    We have completed milling train audits for clients in Fiji, Argentina and India and Australia. These audits are invaluable when considering increasing crushing capacity and/or maximising extraction.
  • Boiler station
    We have a wide range of practical and theoretical experience working with steam generation plant. We utilise a suite of modern modelling tools to predict modified boiler performance.
  • Pan Stage/fugal station
    We conduct audits of the pan stage and fugal station in tandem, such as low grade (LG) process stream with the crystalliser station. We assisted an Australian client recently achieve production of a higher POL sugar. The resulting premiums the client received for the increased quality sugar quickly recouped the upgrade costs.
  • Crystalliser station
    Client factories wanting to optimise exhaustion performance have benefited from our detailed crystalliser station audits, often carried out as part of a capacity upgrade.
  • Evaporator station
    Clients have used SRI to advise on evaporator station design to both increase capacity and to reduce energy usage in the most cost effective manner. All factories targeting efficiency can benefit from an evaporator station audit.
  • Clarification
    Several Australian and overseas factories have installed the SRI New Generation clarifier as a result of SRI’s clarification station recommendations. The performance and capacity improvements have been significant. An audit of the clarification station is the first stage in the station upgrade process.
