The SRI can fibre machine provides excellent fibre determination for prepared sugar cane and has been approved and adopted by the Australian sugar industry.
The can fibre machine features:
- Production of more accurate and consistent results than other fibre determination methods;
- Measurement repeatability (standard deviation) of 0.10% fibre in sugar cane;
- Microprocessor controlled washing and drying process; and
- Manual operations limited to:
- Initial insertion and weighing of a 500 gm prepared sugar cane sample;
- Transfer of washed sample to drying station; and
- Weighing and repeat weighing of dried sample.
- Analysis of six complete samples in 7.5 hours; and
- No external fibre retention system used, as the initial hot water recirculation phase converts filter sample into filter bed.
