SRI's expertise in process control and instrumentation has assisted Australia's sugar industry to become one of the world's most highly automated and tightly controlled operations.
SRI has been active in process control and instrumentation since the advent of the first industrial computers in the 1960s.
Our capabilities include:
- Development of numerous control systems and sensors for a variety of measurement and process control applications;
- Patenting and production of these control systems and marketing through SRI's global agent network;
- Training courses for sugar industry clients with specialist sessions on process control and instrumentation; and
- Collaboration with other research institutions, commercial companies and end-users to produce control and measurement systems in real-world installations.
We specialise in:
- Process sensor development;
- Spectral analysis based systems e.g. NIR;
- Control systems communications and datalogging;
- Scheduling systems;
- Model based control; and
- Neural network control.
