Raw sugar
SRI can give expert advice on the processes and procedures to produce best quality raw sugar.
Our clients benefit from our experience and skills in achieving best results in grain size, starch levels, filterability, dextran, ash and floc potential.
Quality is a vital factor in the marketing of raw sugar. The Australian market, for example, is structured around a premium for sugar pol (polarisation), with high pol sugars attracting a premium from refiners due to their increased yield potential.
We can also advise on the best use of naturally occurring and cultured enzymes to reduce starch levels.
Refined sugar
SRI specialises in the design and operation of refineries and can specify cost effective sugar processes to suit markets requiring colours from 20 to 100 ICU.
SRI's refining process capabilities include:
- Affination;
- Phosphatation;
- Ion exchange;
- Batch and continuous centrifugals; and
- Drying and conditioning.
SRI can design and audit any of these processes.
